Hey 🙂
Just wondering what methods the women use for hair removal?
Like are we allowed to use the likes of Veet and stuff?
As always any help or advice is greatly appreciated :D x

I don't use removal cream as it causes a reaction on my skin. I get waxed regularly and have done for over 30 years.

Gosh Kaylz there are so many supposed rules about what we are and aren't meant to do and I think I've ignored most of them - I've definitely used hair removal cream lots but I do remember waxing being ano for diabetics. But then again they always said that saunas and jacuzzis shouldn't be used by diabetics and I've used them zillions of times (that makes me feel old :D). On a serious note if you want to try Veet or similar I would suggest trying with a small patch test to see how you get on with it x

I heard that waxing was a no go, also heard something about shaving to though, I used Veet a few times as a teenager, I heard about the saunas but I thought they were fine to use as long as you had no active rapid (oopps your on a pump so am I right in saying its only ever rapid you have circulating?) might buy some Veet tonight not sure yet, depends how the supermarket trip is! HAHA x

Veet was never strong enough before or after my diagnosis - waxing is the answer though of course if you have neuropathy in any of your bits you want waxed, don't do it.

Before I could afford waxing - and since actually - ordinary Gillette disposable razors still do the trick for me however I could never stand stubble sticking through my tights, fortunately after approx. 25 years of regular leg waxing (only my lower legs have ever needed it) my legs were pretty bald - and its brill for getting rid of all the dry dead skin we get all over our bodies. Sadly round here there's nowhere I can now get to easily to get my bikini line done or my bald, dry legs waxed!

The only thing I've ever had done that I absolutely wouldn't recommend to anyone diabetic or not - is sugaring. Hairs ripped out with violence cos it didn't seem to soften the skin like warm wax does, and blood spots where every one was ripped out. These were actually bruises so took absolutely ages to go.

Sorry to jump in on this but we are not supposed to use saunas or jacuzzis? Ops - I have not been following that rule! What’s the theory behind this?

I shave, haven’t found a wax that my skin can handle yet

I only need to shave my legs twice a year and hubbie’s razor does it painlessly. Not sure about the more delicate areas, he wouldn’t let me use it! Lol :D

I have used it in the past, now only for my holidays and no issues with it. Some places do own brand, boots own is fine but Superdrug’s wasn’t good on me.
I use razors mainly.

I don’t think there is any reason you can’t use it x

Thank you Phoebe, I didn't know Boots made their own so will take a look there 🙂
Thank you again 🙂 x

Sorry to but in! I keep seeing this no no advert on tv. Think it’s expensive but works out good value after months of use. Missus was looking at the pros and cons as she goes for waxes. Then I think the social side of going out somewhere is then lost with the no no.

No please feel free 🙂. yeah I've seen that no no advertised too but not sure whether to give it a go or not, will have a look for it on the net later, might find it somewhere on a good deal with the sales an all you never know lol x

The No No does not get very good reviews and it is very expensive.

I think a lot of the advice in generic, and as others have said there may be issues about people with neuropathy. I use a jacuzzi after a swim without any worries, staying in for a sensible time just like others.

With regard to hair removal, legs with lady shave, ‘moustache’ with epilpro (more long lasting than plucking and gentler than electrolysis)
