Hi , I randomly wrote a poem yesterday ! Having one of those " I hate Diabetes days ", after I had a call from school to say my son was 18 , he only has a cold coming out for goodness sake.

Hope …

Type 1 diabetes, well, what can I say

Has a major impact on my son and mines day

Carb counting, blood tests, adjustments never ending.

Sleepless nights as the sun is descending.

Hope for a cure.

Nothing we did, nothing he ate

An auto immune disease , so I suppose its just fate

Why us, I ask what have we done?

My honour, and a privilege to look after my son.

Hope for a cure.

He will have fun, just like any boy

Running around, playing with his favourite toy

Jumping on his brother, having lots of fun

These are the things I want for my son.

Hope for a cure.

So I look to the future with hope and some fear

Maybe a cure, though perhaps not this year.

My son, you can be whatever you choose, a pilot, an astronaut or maybe world leader.

Don’t let anything stop you , be a believer !

Hope for a cure.

An excellent poem 🙂 Your son will do fine, thanks to your love and support 🙂 And things seem to be moving more rapidly than ever, so let's hope that cure is not too far away! 🙂

Hope he recovers quickly from the cold 🙂
