In the past my main method of keeping my BG levels under control has always been lots of exercise. As my knees are now getting past their best I have had to curtail the running and long cycle rides and this coincided with the swimming pool being closed due to Covid. I stayed relatively active, there was plenty to do in the garden, but that wasn't really as beneficial as exercising properly. Consequently, at my last review I got a bit of a bollocking from the specialist nurse. Elsewhere you may have read about my sponsored swim for the guide dogs charity and my attempt to swim 500 miles in a year. Since January 1st I have swum just over two hundred miles, thirteen thousand pool lengths. So, I had my latest review and pretty much all my indicators are better. Sorry that I haven't got all the numbers to hand I didn't think to write everything down. My remaining Linagliptin pills have gone in the bin and I have another blood test due in three months time to see if diet and exercise will do the job on their own. So, the answer, for me at least, is insane amounts of swimming.
