I take my background insulin at night. I adjust it if I've had a hypo, or, if I'm high in the morning, I adjust it the forthcoming evening. I need to increase it when I've not been to the gym for a few days! Only two units, nothing drastic. Do you find a pump gives you far better control?

Much better, yes. Long acting insulins were completely unpredictable for me!
