this is not for the squeamish. i am doing the bowel screening and got the pack to do the test most will know what it entails.

any way i have received the strangest looking collections pots really tiny to say the least and had a go with one this morning all very well or so i thought.

now the problem is i have to get this small stick with poo on it in to the smallest collection pot i have ever seen so you can imagine the mess i ended up in. the collection pot has a tiny hole and my eyes aren't that good so the obvious on the fingers yuk.

i did do it in the end the only downside i have to repeat with a second pot and small stick oh no please god no. 😳 the things i do in the name of science.

I don't think it's possible to do a poo test without getting pooey! I certainly did :D In fact mine is next due in April, I'll see if I fare any better then. Good luck with your second pot! x

It used to amuse me that the sample pot given to men to provide a sample after having a vasectomy to make sure it had worked OK was a quarter the size of the urine specimen pot the doc gives you. I'm sure it was just to punish them.

I was in Lidl a while ago and they had some magnifiers with lights, for crafting.
I know that I need to go to the opticians, but doing so many things is so much easier with this - I really need one without a power cord, but I manage. I have been reading some magazines with really tiny writing from many years ago, which have been closed to me for a decade or more, and repairs and fine sewing and knitting - of course it might give you a view that you would rather not have had, but one of them might assist in holing the stick in the future.

I did mine last month and reminded me of a mascara wand..but I'm confused as only I pot now which does make it easier

My husband did his last weekend commented it was only one pot now which he said was better than it used to be. I have the joy of that to do next year.

i found out what it is called FIT poo test - problem been it is a tiny stick and your supposed to get poo on it then put it back in to the sample pot the downside is not been able to get enough sample to go in to the pot hole as it is so small and too much your in a real mess.

the FIT kit comes with 2 containers as it needs to be done a couple a days apart.

oh the joys of getting your hands down in it 😳

Yuk! Hope the second pot goes better @mikeydt1

Only one pot in mine last year - two previously.

Thank goodness I don’t need to do it. My bowel is regularly monitored for nasties. Soon as lockdown eases I’ll be off for a colonoscopy, had lots of them. I’m not sure which is worse!

Mike i was going to say collecting the samples but after my last experience of the colonoscopy and the person doing it kept hitting the prostate area i would say both are as bad as each other that was a painful experience to say the least.
