That is what I meant actually Laura - it makes sense putting a person on whatever insulins match their BG peaks and troughs - your team presumably chose the insulin they thought matched yours - but I don't know what they are so can't guess their reasoning.

I must stop posting a quick reply and going to bed.

I just meant ask why, though for curiosity - what was their reasoning? - not like demand to know why you've been put on this instead of that .....
 
Spoke to DSN, basically I think she was trying to say she thinks I will get it changed to a longer acting basal soon, but they put me on that because I am "slow onset" Type 1, and my own pancreas is still doing something at the moment (as the metformin was working etc too)....so they figured medium-slow acting might be ok?!

I reckon it's mostly down to the cost though 😉 I am going to start keeping more logs of what is going on after certain foods too. Will look at those apps!
