Not a good day today...
Our diabetic dog minnie lost the fight to live during the night. I got her 4 years ago to keep my mam and dad company. Quietest and most loyal dog they have ever had.
Its been a very hard morning for all of us. Very emotional at the moment. She was only 6 and developed diabetes nearly 2 years ago after an operation to remove a tumour. She had a heart murmur, which we believe has killed her as she was getting fits for the past few weeks.
Absolutely gutted. :(

Sorry to hear about the death of Minnie. Dogs can be very good and loyal friends and it can be hard to say goodbye.

She sounds like a lovely dog - hope you can concentrate on your happy memories with her.

I'm sorry to hear about the death of Minnie. She sounded like a lovely and loyal companion. Our pets become part of our families and it's hard to lose them, especially as she was so young. I'm sending you all my love and hoping you'll soon be able to cencentrate on the happy memories you have of your faithful friend. XXXXX

Thanks everyone for your lovely messages.
Much appreciated.

Im so sorry to hear of your loss they become part of our lifes, hope you dont mind but am attaching a verse that someone sent to me hope it helps

Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I am so sorry to hear that. Dogs are such wonderful animals and so part of the family. You must have lovely memories of her.

MY DOG

The one who listens when I talk,
The one who cheers my lonely walk,
The one who nuzzles when I cry,
The one who comforts when I sigh,

Who else could match my every mood?
Who else would feast on scraps of food?
Who else would prompt this monolouge?
Who else but you............................
My loving dog.

With warmest wishes Sheena

Thanks everyone for the lovely poems. I love dogs as have been brought up with them through my childhood. Its a shock when one is taken early in their life.
thanks for all your support.
Much love.
