Despite my poor car being kept over-night at the garage and no guarantee of when she will be returned, v expensive/useless public transport, I've had a bit of good news.
I'm going on a 1/2 day carb-counting course on 20/2 - when I phoned to get more info, the dietician seemed quite excited that I'm already on the pump!! And that I got one so quickly! So fingers crossed this will be of good use!

I took advice from my last thread and when I went out with the Ramblers on Sunday, I stopped my pump an hour before the walk (mainly the drive to Collieston). Didn't have a hypo despite walking for roughly 5/6 hours, on a very muddy, slippy, narrow coastal path! And despite having to climb up a grassy cliff! Good company - especially my fellow 'scared of heights' lady. Now looking forward to more walks!

I replied to an ad in our local newsletter and have been invited to be the new Treasurer for the local Pavillion Committee - met some nice people and we've got lots of ideas to discuss at the next meeting. Hopefully, this will be a good way to meet new people and find out what's going on in the Village.

All I need now is a more interesting job, my driving licence back (I miss driving!!!) and, ideally, a big lottery win!!😉

Thanks for sharing your good news Suziepoo. Join the queue for the lottery! 😛

Good to read your positive post! Best wishes, getting involved with community life is worth the effort.

Great news Susie

Tell us more about the Pavilion Committee and what you will do!

Really pleased for you that things are starting to go really well🙂

Hi
Apparently one of the first things I need to do is look into converting the Cttee into a charity! More grants plus giftaid!
I'll be keeping the books, making sure bills are paid and raising invoices for those who use the pavilion. The ideas we need to come up with are for fundraising events, general community events and getting groups together. Looking forward to making new friends though.
Sadly, it maybe a few days before the car is fixed but moaned constantly at the hubby to phone insurance company - and now we've got a courtesy car for up to a week! The hubby's not too keen as it's a Ka and is a bit small!! 😛
