I was requesting a repeat for my metformin, from my surgery, when I had a look at the 'links' page, where there was a link to 'The British Diabetic Association" The website had been updated March 2013.

Whilst my [diabetic] treatment has been very good at the surgery, it did make me wonder.

I do not mean to be pedantic, but I thought they should be more accurate in the simple things like getting the name correct

I have written to the practice manager advising her that the BDA changed to Diabetes UK in June 2000

Pedantry's fine, in it's place.*

There is history behind this change and you might like to google it. The British Diabetic society was a different organisation and Diabetes UK just about bankrupt them.

Was that those two pensioners that nearly lost their home after they got sued?

That's what I was thinking of Deus. Somewhere the whole sorry tale was on the internet, but I've not seen it in ages. I thought they actually HAD lost their home.

I believe they do loose their home, DUK were extremely righteous about it as well.
