Hi Everyone,

Has anyone ever had the same HbA1c result 3 times in a row?

I had mine done (pre-pump) back in Oct 2012 and it was 67. Then it was 67 again in April 2013 after been on my pump 5 months! Then today I get my results and yet again it's 67!!!!

Could it be the new European measurements making slight changes less visible?

Feeling very frustrated as I am doing everything I can to help the big D (going on DAFNE, Insulin Pump) but nothing is going in the right direction :(

Hi Nix, sorry to hear you are having difficulties getting the numbers down. Have your team offered any suggestions of areas to consider? One thing that I found very helpful was working out just how long I needed to inject prior to eating so that I could reduce any post-meal spike. I was very surprised to discover that, in the mornings in particular, my novorapid can take up to an hour before it starts to peak. It takes a lot of cautious testing to find out the safe timing so that you don't go hypo before eating, but it has definitely improved my overall levels.

I wonder if this is the key to lowering your HbA1c? Do you have any problem times? What are your day to day tests showing?
 
In the absence of anything useful to say, you could pick numbers 6, 7 and 6+7=13 next time you do the lottery! 🙂
 
Just give us an idea of BG when you go to bed and fasting BG next morning, for a couple of random days

AND

how long since you did a full 24 hour basal test?

Getting your basal right is scientific at the end of the day - not hit and miss!

Unless you know your basal is right you can't be sure that any of your fast acting ratios for food or correction, are actually correct.
