600 calorie diet???

hello all,
I was speaking to my mother yesterday. She ask if I had seen the article in the news paper about reversing type 2 diabetes. My mum said its a 600 calorie diet over a period of time and hey presto diabetes gone!!!!! Does anyone know about this diet? Does this work???

The short answer is no - not for the man in the street . This was a tiny study under strict medical supervision that was done to investigate whether further research was worth doing. The media have totally over-inflated the story, by suggesting that it is a 'cure'. There's been quite a discussion about it here:
