...since I left hospital after being diagnosed. I took my first BG reading at 19:20 - it was 10.0 mmol/l. I injected myself for the very first time with 16 units of novorapid, and went to bed on 9.9 mmol/l with 20 units of lantus. I woke in the morning to 5.5 mmol/l, and had my first hypo (a 3.9) just before bed. My TDD was 66 units, after 3 months it was 46 units and it is now about 20 units, having ditched the lantus completely.

Wonder how things will be in another 5 years time? 🙂

Umm, do I congratulate you or commiserate?

I reckon it should be commiserate with you for getting the Dread D and congratulate you for getting such good control.

By my reckoning, we should now be exactly 5 years away from a cure...😉
