49th Diaversary

Looking forward to celebrating my 49 year Diaversary today with champagne - 49 years with Type 1 Diabetes! Forty-nine years ago on April 20th my Mum saved my life my getting me to the hospital when she was very scared that I was going to die because of how ill I was. I was only two years old but the stupid GP has told my Mum a week or two before that there was nothing wrong with me. Thank goodness my Mum saved me and there quite a lot of other times I could have died but my wonderful Mum knew what needed to be done - on at least two other occasions Mum had to stop doctors doing things that would have killed me such as going to give me insulin when I was already hypo. It will be thanks to my wonderful Mum that in a year’s time I will get a medal for serving 50 years with Type 1 Diabetes.
