Good morning,
My local chemist here in foggy Italy has informed me that this month, due to "supply problems" they cannot give me my normal 4mm x 32G needles for my insulin pens but instead could supply me with 4mm x 31G needles.
Should I accept the slightly larger diameter needles or look else where?
( to further complicate matters, the ones normally supplied by the health authority are a nasty cheap brand called Thin Pen, whereas the alternative that's being pushed is Glucojet, which I understand is better quality)
Thanks for any advice

I get a brand called 4Sure , which nobody else ever seems to have heard of, and one month my pharmacy gave me 31 gauge instead of 32. (I didn’t notice the mistake til I got home and realised the pack was a slightly different shade of green). I decided to use them, rather than take them back and waste them, and I can’t say I really noticed much difference.

Thanks, that's reassuring. I'm under all sorts of treatment for various stuff and am both very thin now and have problems with my skin, so I m keen not to add to any other irritations, however minor!

They tried (GP surgery) to change my BD 4mm 32g to some cheap brand 4mm 31g. I got my hospital DSN to write to them and change back. The needles sometimes have a coating for lubrication that some people react to some makes but not others. You have a slightly different problem so would accept the pharmacist offer if its not costing you more. I see you are from Italy so not sure how you pay/or not for medication.

Like @stillgoing the comments I mostly see about needles and people having problems seem much more often to be related to skin reactions and irritation from the lubricant, rather than the guage.

Let us know how you get on with them if you try them out.
