This thread has dredged up a memory from my childhood (1960s or early 1970s) of a particular brand of fags being "4/3 for 20" (that is, 21p in today's coinage). 😱 Up until 30 years ago, if not later, it was still possible to see long-disused fag vending machines on shop walls.

Yup, remember them 🙂 I remember the vending machines in pubs as well, where you would get 16 cigarettes instead of 20 because the price had increased but they didn't want to change what the machines accepted! 🙂
