Here is my journey:
  • Dx. 19th Nov16 Hba1c 12.9% / 117.
  • Review 1st Mar17 Hba1c 6% / 42: Cholesterol 4.5 (HDL 1.2 LDL 2.5 Trig 1.7)
  • Review Sep 17 hba1c 6.1%/43; cholesterol 5.7. HDL 1.8 LDL 3.5 Trig 0.8.
  • Review Mar 18 hba1c 6/42; cholesterol 5 HDL 1.5 LDL 2.8 Trig 1.4
Since Sept 17 I on my own initiative reduced to 1 500mg Metformin a day, down from two. Still self testing daily.

Now officially my med cut to 1 a day as DN was very happy with my stability she knows I had reduced meds myself.

Also got myself a positive steps gym referral

Nice one, Grogg.🙂

Fantastic news.

Nice work, Grogg1!😛:D😛

I am mixed between being disappointed I've not got it down further but also relieved as that it hasn't gone up!! I know I could be lower if I dump the carbs/chocolate/puddings completely but I guess I should be happy I've reduced meds, eat a diet I am happy with and am holding stable. I think I need to tackle my fitness. My once a week Pilates and daily lunch time walk is not sufficient hence me signing up for positive steps. I'm hoping to add either a second Pilates class or a gentle gym session a week. I work full time so my evenings/weekends are precious and I need to be realistic as I won't go out 4 evening a week to exercise!!!

With finer weather I will add walking home from work (3 miles) once a week again and I'm hoping to take early retirement from work in 12 months time and will join the same gym as my hubby (he's already retired and goes to gym 4 times a week ).
