hi i was diagnosed as being diabetic in June. The doctor and i had a phone consultation due to corvid and told me i needed metformin tabs, I asked him to give me a chance to reverse it first before i go down the road of tabs, He gave me an agma testing kit and advised i cut down on carbs. are any of you on here in the same position as me.
 
Hi Jackie , my doctor was not that supportive. I was told to go on Metformin I argued I would like to try diet first and lower my weight . It fell on deaf ears a prescription was made out for Metformin and Statins. I am using the Metformin but not the Statins after researching this it would be hard to lose the weight once you go down the medicated route . I could be wrong it is only what I have read, but I am happier not to use the Statins for now. I have been on a low Carb diet using a certain doctors recommendations for diabetics as he was one, so that gave me faith. He is on the television and I read his books. I have lost a stone in three weeks . I think I am still in shock and can't believe this is me now . I have bought my own kit and strips as this was not mentioned ? so I can track what spikes my sugar levels. I am still waiting for the call back or an appointment from the Diabetic nurse? Now it is on to educating myself through the maze of advice and so much to take in , I feel your pain .

Your GP seems on the ball, and you are very lucky you were given a test kit.
