Hello and welcome to the forum. 🙂

I was offered a kind of therapy but it was to do with weight loss rather than to do with diabetes. It was for a two year course before you were offered bariatric. The first chat with a lady went down like a lead balloon when she said I was to go home and eat normally, not diet. I've never eaten normally in my life, so I was on a hiding to nothing from the get go. :D I only went to a few appointments then gave up.

Really? That's passed me by. My daughter has Netflix, I must give that a whirl. I likes a good fat prog.
I believe you have to pay to view things on Netflix.

I think Sarah Garton has been swallowing the Eatwell Guide whole. But since when has dietary fat caused high glucose levels? Quote from her website.

Diabetes diet
The key thing in managing diabetes through diet is eating regularly and including plenty of starchy carbohydrates, fruit and vegetables. A well-balanced diet will help you achieve and maintain a healthy weight and overall well-being. While diabetes is a long-term condition, it doesn’t mean you must avoid sugar for the rest of your life. Sugary and high-fat foods do, of course, spike your levels, so should be limited, but not completely avoided.
Starchy carbohydrates, not a few but plenty. Hilarious.

The comment that high fat spikes your levels informed me instantly that the person was talking sheer unadulterated rubbish.

I am not a internet gurus, but came across a nutritional therapist in the past.I have been to my doctors when I was 16 years old because I was too skinny. I was after advice on healthy eating and was given a eatwell guide. it was a waste of time.I am now aware that the N.h.s only treat illness

Welcome back @cairneeee

How have things been going for the last few months?

Sorry you’ve been disappointed by the eatwell guide. Members here find they need to listen to various sources of advice with an open mind, but ultimately each individual needs to find their own way that suits their BG levels, their tastebuds and their weight goals 🙂
