I woke up this morning and my sensor for the Libre has come off. When I look at my Libre Link app its still just letting me scan.

When I put a new sensor on how will I get the new sensor to work? Or will it just recognise it’s a new one?

It will just recognise it is a new one a d say something like would you like to start the new sensor, then you scan it and it will give you the 60 minute message. Hope that makes sense!

Hi. I found that it lets you scan once but after that it wouldn't. At least you can pick up the data from it before it fell off. I always scan until it says it can't just to be on the safe side.
I usually put the new sensor on, scan it with the reader to start it then use the phone. It should recognise that its a new sensor. There will be a break in the data while the new sensor gets working but that can't be helped (i've not found a way around it anyway when one has fell off).
Have you had the sensor on long? If you ring Abbott and explain they often replace, although i've never rang if its been close to (ie a day or two) ending. Hope this makes sense

Yes if you just scan the new one it will tell you it has found a new one and would you like to start it, starting the new one will end the old one. If you say yes it will then prompt you to scan the new one again which will start it up with the 60 minute countdown.

Each sensor has a unique serial number and each reader can only read one sensor at a time

Hope you managed to switch over OK @MarkGeordie

If you want to be able to use the reader and your phone alongside each other, remember to scan with reader first, and phone immediately afterwards so that you can use both 🙂 (helpful if your phone battery is a bit flaky!)

Yes it got sorted. I managed to scan the new sensor.

I think it’s the way I sleep, I’m sure I bounce from side to side I just can’t sleep on my back so it causes it to become loose.
