Hi
I'm really confused with my diabetic readings.
So I was still struggling to feel "better" with the metformin. It has helped me in reducing thirst, sleepiness, blurred vision, dizzy/woozy spells, however I still get the odd thirst and tiredness spells.
I've been increasing the metformin as per the gp/ diabetic specialist advice. ( 2 tablets in the morning and 2 in the evening. Regular release ). I was sent a blood glucose machine and asked to monitor my blood, I've been doing this for over a week now.
It's been almost a month and I'm worried I'm doing something wrong. As i don't know how fast things are meant to normalise. Also whenever i ask about my diabetic result the dr seems to just keep saying your type 2 because you're responding to metaformin, your overweight and you didn't have ketones in your urine. Despite the first dr being concerned i was LADA or MODY because of the severity of my symptoms, my over 2 stone weight loss, and that i am 34.
Also I have no diabetes in my family, really don't know if that matters. The last gp i spoke to didn’t know about LADA and she kept saying i probably am type 2 and that the likelihood of me not is like nonexistent.
I started the keto diet to help with weight as I was told to lose weight (5f4 15 stone). I have lost over 2 stone since January, and the weight is still dropping. I previously wasn't trying to lose weight, but i am now.
Actually enjoying the diet despite its challenges.
I'll attempt to attach my reading results, as i don't know… i just don't know
