As I am now on insulin injections and beforehand was reading sugar levels of between 18 and 25, have plummeted to a happier between 6 and 10.
However, struggling with major headaches, especially in the mornings. Is this due to my body being used to such high levels and it will wear off? Anyone had experience of this please?

Just a suggestion if you haven't already done so, have you checked your blood sugars during the night esp early morning as it might be a case of you dipping a bit low and having a headache as a consequence, a bit like a hangover!

I agree with @Pumper_Sue

Setting an overnight alarm and checking your BG at around 3am a few times.

How often is your waking BG below 5.1? There is some research that suggests you should aim for waking BG above 5, as waking in the 4s is associated with an increased risk of undetected overnight hypos (especially in future years when you d been using insulin a bit longer)

My BG isnt below 5 upon waking, it's usually around 6 or 7. Spoken to the hospital DN today who rings me weekly for my readings as only been on insulin 3 weeks and still getting the doses right. He seemed to think the same so alarms set for 3 am to check levels. Plus he also said that as my levels were so extreme, I may suffer symptoms of hypo even though I'm not really until my body adapts. Thanks again folks. You are always so helpful. Am so new to all this....

i have been having the same issues on medications think it is through the medication causing a sudden drop in the night but at the same time i suffer with migraines.

with any headaches it is all ways best to get them checked out to be on the safe side.

Are you getting enough water? Sounds simple but it does make a difference.
Did you mention it to the nurse?
