thank you anyway, I looked for one that uses universal strips, ive not had much guidance on my condition, was supposed to have a course but that will not happen any time soon lol,off to cook dinner tc
I am afraid their are no universal testing strips , imo it’s how the manufacturers make there money , some will provide a free meter but the cost of a pot of its strips could be as high as £25 o_O

Im really sorry you’ve had a bad experience with that meter @desktop57 - but don’t let that put you off self-monitoring completely!

Over the years I’ve used several different types and brands, I've also been offered a few to try out for my blog, and I can certainly say that some strips and meters are far ‘slurpier‘ than others. Some really do have a knack, and seem very picky about exactly where the droplet is and the angle of strip, while others will slurp up the blood from halfway across a room :D

Many members here chose the SD Gluco Navii, because it offers good accuracy and has very affordable strips. There are links in the ‘useful links’ thread in the newbie section if you are interested.
ty a friend who has type 2 got a spare, not used they sending me that fingers crossed lol

Did the strips you used come with the meter? I wonder if you were using strips for another meter? I have also never heard of universal strips, every meter needs you to use the strips for that particular model.
Good luck sorting this out!

There is no such thi g as universal strips for any meter. Even meters made by the same company can require differnt strips depending on the model.
