Being bored at home, i finally got around to install Spike with my Libre and try out the Miao Miao.
Only had it on for 24 hours but wow, the feeling of being able to see how my bloodsugar is doing by just looking at my watch is amazing. 🙂 I have just started to play around with the alarms but there are soo many options I have just done the basic High and Low alarms

Any one else using Spike and the Miao Miao (or the bubble?)?

I haven’t looked at these options yet Jon, but will be interested to hear about your experiences.

Glad it’s working well for you @Jon-Manchester

I know several people who have gone down the smart watch route and found the ‘glance-ability‘ very liberating.

My sensors work with my pump at the moment, so my glance it to my waistband, not watch - but it’s very easy to keep an eye on things 🙂

I have only used it for a couple of days so it is obviously very early days.

I am using Spike with Miao Miao and Spike isn’t perfect. You can really tell that Spike has been built by enthusiasts rather than by a corporation (i.e.there are lots and lots of features but not very slick in its implementation). It even has integrations with Alexa and Siri, so you can have Siri announcing on your devices if you have a high/low warning or if you have missed taking your insulin and so on. Its very feature rich (but quite techie in its implementation so not that easy to pick up)

This morning I had a message in the app asking me to do another calibration against a finger prick. Having done that I thought it would be good to check how successful that had been and so I have just done another finger prick to check accuracy, Libre says 7.2, Spike 7.5 finger prick 7.6. Reading online, the calibration is a double edged sword as if you calibrate at the wrong time (BS sinking or rising), you can get it way out of line but so far it feels really good to know that I can correct to make it more accurate

The ‘glance-ability‘ is certainly a good thing, but I also like the calibration, alarms and IFTTT integration. I am a bit of a tech geek, so this is bringing an element of 'fun' to diabetes management.

I just realised that this will mean I can check my BS while swimming 🙂 (!!) which as always been a bit annoying having to stop every now and then to scan to check what my bs is doing. Now I cant wait for the swimming pools to open again to try it (that might be awhile mind you)

Thanks for the info Jon.
