Relationship to Diabetes

Hi there I was diagnosed with diabetes about 2 months ago but am yet to have my flu jab and pneumonia injection. In sight with the coronavirus now and it being more serious for people with diabetes. Should I be trying to get these done.

Contact your doctor/ nurse for clarification, as they are qualified to do so.

(Personally, as both vaccines are 'killed' then I think it would be sensible to have them - if it was a 'live' vaccine such as MMR then that would probably be a different kettle of fish at the moment!)

We are a little bit late in the flu season, but you may find that your local pharmacy could offer vaccination. Probably best to get a phone appointment with your GP to get their advice first though. In case adding extra vaccinations may impact on your immune system we’re you to get covid19 immediately afterwards.
