Went to see the neurologists a couple of weeks ago and today got a letter from the GP. What was in the letter was a print out of the e-mail they have had from the neurologist. Absolutely brilliant. I now know what the neuros thinking is, what investigations he intends to carry out and the time scale on which he wants those investigations to happen.

Also has his provisional diagnosis - first time I have seen it. Mono neuropathy multiplex. A quick poke around shows diabetes to be high on the list of probable causal factors.

The thread title says it all. Good on the GP for sending it to me.

Good to know you have a way forward Docb. Any consultant consultations I have, I receive my copy of the Consultant's letter directly, with the other going directly to my GP. After a few days, the GP's copyappears on my medical record.

Long gone are the days of pleading for information about ourselves, and so they should be.

I agree with you, we need and should know what is what, it helps us to understand what is going on and gives us the opportunity to ask relevant questions. I hope you get your investigations done in his timeframe x
