....of the forum on this day in 2017 tho I was dx the year before.
On the day I joined the forum I was warmly accepted into its fold and received an abundance of helpful advice as to how I could manage my T2 Diabetes for which I am eternally grateful.

Without the guidance & *support from you kind folk I could easily have taken the wrong path and my HbA1c would have soared into the stratosphere and gawd knows what diabetic complications I could have suffered!

I've made many virtual friends here and would go so far to say you're like my extended family. So, the only way I can convey my thanks & gratitude to you lovely kind people is to say it with flowers🙂

As the Grandfather of the forum (so to speak 😱), can I just say that the forum is the one that has gained from you joining us. It has been a pleasure to read your many contributions which I am sure have been enjoyed by many members. Keep well my friend and many more years of entertaining us with your posts.

@wirralass I second all you say regarding the forum and what the others have said re your contribution to it. I too feel as if this forum gives us a second ‘family’. Enjoy your day wirralass xxx

Happy anniversary! :D

I'm always "gonna be slim" by the time we next all meet up and pigs might fly! 🙄

And we've been very happy to have you as a member @wirralass ! 🙂 It was lovely to meet you in Manchester (and @Ditto) we must arrange it again when the weather gets better and the trains are more reliable! Journey isn't as far for me now that I'm living up North! 🙂
Thank you @Northerner ~ it took me a while to think about 'joining up' It's one of the best decisions I have ever made🙂🙂🙂

One of the lovely things about the forum is the way so many people join and then stay, and keep engaged and posting to support the community and build lasting friendships. And you are just one of those people @wirralass 🙂

Well done @wirralass I feel the same I would be lost without this forum, keep on with your splendid posts we all appreciate them. xx

Aww gee guys ~ I'm overcome with emotion here! What can I say but thank you all for your kind messages and likes, totally unexpected. I really don't deserve it as I feel that my contribution to the forum is no less than any of your contributions. As I see it we all work together as a team to support each other and also to help the Newbies who seek reassurance when they're overwhelmed by their dx. We've all been there haven't we?

Anyway, in the event that we get to meet each other at some time in the foreseeable future then the drinks are on me ~ just one round mind! Hehe!
Cheers and my thanks again.

Thank you Mike. You're right about friendships, I've come across some lovely people here on the forum that I wouldn't have met had I not joined up.
Take care
