My jubilation may have been premature! Today I got Error 7 three times. Manual says this can be to do with temperature - so I stuck the heating on and then fell asleep! 🙄
The nightmare of sometimes managing it and sometimes failing continues. I am not doing anything technically wrong now but struggle to get enough blood which messes up the reading. I just feel it is a lot of wasted needles and strips, which is doing my head in more than not getting the readings.
It can take a bit of practice. Before I retired one of the many hats I wore involved pricking peoples thumbs to get a sample of blood to check their iron level was high enough to donate blood, this also involved training others to do the same and believe me it takes time to learn how to get enough blood out.
It’s a combination of squeezing technique and sometimes leaving enough time before starting to squeeze so the punctured area fills up with blood again 2 or 3 seconds.
setting the lancing devise to the correct depth, initially you may need a higher setting
for me I found a rolling action when squeezing often worked when blood was being difficult, you have to find what works for you.
Mind you we needed a much larger sample than doing a BG test,
Lucky me I was well ahead of the game when I started testing my BGs

Nice warm dry fingers helps a lot too.
Did you see my link on painless pricks on my earlier post ?
It will get easier m honest .
Edited to say. It’s also possible to have a faulty batch of test strips or a faulty meter
So if you continue to have problems contact your nurse .
