Morning folks

I just wanted to update you with some exciting news. Since our amazing admin @Northerner retired last year Diabetes UK have been looking for a replacement and decided to spread the role between two people (which shows quite what an amazing job Alan did over all those years!).

I am really happy to say that I have accepted one of the positions and as of Monday morning I will be journeying to DUK Towers to be inducted in the newly created ‘Online Community Coordinator‘ role. The other half of the job will be starting slightly later I think, but I’ll let that person introduce themselves in time.

I am really excited by the opportunity, and look forward to supporting and nurturing the forum over the coming months and years. It will be good to put some proper, regular, time to the forum, rather than just popping in on and ad-hoc basis and I’m really pleased that Diabetes UK value this community and want to support and grow it so that it can help even more people.

I just wanted to thank you all up front for making this amazing community what it is, and look forward to supporting you all going forward.

Congratulations, Mike, and I'm really pleased that we will have an 'old hand' administering us!

Hehe! Thanks @Robin. Yes I’ll have been a member of the forum for ten years(!) in June 😱

Congratulations and good luck. I do hope we still see you on the Forum, as I've found your posts so unbiased, well reasoned and helpful on every issue.

That’s great news Mike. Nice to know we have a steady hand on the tiller. Good luck.

Ah thank you! Yes I will still be here 🙂

Congrats Mike, well deserved, always know you will give sound sensible and comforting advice, just the right person to carry on from Alan x

Congratulations Mike.

That’s absolutely brilliant news Mike. I am so very pleased.

Congratulations Mike.
So good to see the forum in such a safe pair of hands, and to the see it as one of DUK’s priorities.

Many congratulations, Mike, excellent news!

Excellent news Mike! 🙂 And, I might add,. about bloody time! 😱 A shame that the 'other half' of the role isn't yet in place, I hope that will not take long and that DUK provide decent cover until that happens. As you know, you've always had my vote, it was a blessing for the forum when you joined and it has been my pleasure to work alongside you, and get to know you as a good friend, over the past 10 years 🙂 If there is ever anything that I can do to help, my inbox is always open 🙂 Good luck, I know that, in your safe and experienced hands, the forum will remain the best place on the interweb for people affected by diabetes to seek solid advice and friendly support 🙂

Many, many congratulations Mike, Like others I have always found your advice welcome and 'to the point'. I am positive that this approach will continue and I wish you all of the very best.
