As far as I can tell, if you already have a kidney problem, talk to your GP before taking the medicine (although, having said that, they should already be aware of that if they are prescribing it).
Skimming through the side effects, I couldn't see anything to do with kidneys though.
Thanks for the reply. My most recent blood test showed a lowering in my kidney function. My GP thinks it may be caused by Metformin which I have been on for over a year. He has now discontinued it and put me on Alogliptin to see if there is any change. I was just wondering if It could be Atorvastatin affecting my kidneys.
I return for another blood test in two weeks time.
Might be nothing to do with your medications. Or it might be some effect of the combination of some of them. Side effects of combinations of drugs aren't very well known, apparently.
It’s been awhile since I read the pil on my Atorvastatin, but as I am under the renal clinic who know what meds I am on the have not wanted to change it or lower my dose, so I assume it doesn’t affect the kidney , I’ll have a look in a mo
