I'm taking it the daily average is based off the continuous monitoring rather than just the actual scan results? Either that or my maths is all wrong! lol (which would be disgraceful as it was one of my favourite subjects and then again numeracy at college!) xx

It is indeed the average of all your readings, well nearly. The sensor data is averaged out every few readings (I can’t remember how often, possibly every 15 min) and those are the values stored. This is the data that is then used for the daily average, so it is actually an average of averages. ( This is from memory, and haven’t looked it up to check.)

(Maths is my favourite too @Kaylz )

Yes, but it's not an average of the results when you happen to scan. It's of the 4 times an hour ones (so approximating an average over continuous readings). (I'm speculating, not claiming any actual knowledge. But an average over when you scan seems like a useless thing to report, and the app shows hourly averages. I'm pretty sure I almost never scan 4-5am, for example.)

i have to admit I may be a bit of a freak but I'm bored today (Bruce was at work and I've had him constantly the last week to interact with lol) but I took the averages from the last 90 days compared to the averages of 4 finger pricks but then decided for one day to average the results of actual scan results, if anyone's interested (probably not) they were very close indeed, Libreview had the daily average as 5.9mmol, the average from 4 finger pricks was 6.3mmol and the average of the actual scan results was 6.2mmol xx

That’s the joy of the Libre. So long as you do a swipe at least every 8 hours all the data is captured in those 15 min averages. So much better than fingerpricks which just give a snapshot, and also the time in range is so much more useful than HbA1c
