Hi
Just got my HBA1C results and they were 88.
What kind of foodstuffs did you eat to get that result.

Wow! @Huskydog Fantastic result. Well done! You have every right to be really proud of yourself both for that amazing weight loss and HbA1c reduction.
Yes please share your dietary "secrets" to help and inspire others.

Hi, I know that we are all different when it comes to food ,but my typical diet is ...
Breakfast.....porridge with 80grams of berries
Midday.....2 boiled eggs or scrambled
Evening meal ...a variety of fish , chicken , green leaf veg ,mushrooms , leaks and courgettes all cooked in different ways
Snacking......baby bell cheese ,a portion of nuts , apple or pear coupe of times a week ,
Treats ......a fun size bag of malteasers or Fredo bar , just for chocolate fix , but only twice a week
And not for getting the exercise
I have substituted “Splenda” for sugar in my tea , just can’t drink it without !
Oh, not forgetting will power !!

Evening Jon

I was diagnosed Type 2 at the end of July (I am 65) after having been given pre diabetic warnings for a couple of years. I was at that time at HBA1C level 52, I was stunned and angry with me. I took at hard look at myself at 16st 6lbs and around 5ft10in, 5 stone up on where I had been even in my 50's, and launched into the low carb (max 130grms every day) diet and got back to exercising virtually every day for a minimum of 30 mins. Today I weigh 13st 2 lbs and falling and I have just had the results of my first post diagnosis test, I am now at 44. It seems that this diet and exercise combination works for me, I know it doesn't for everybody and I know for some people the exercise bit must be very daunting. Going forward I now accept this is how I will have to live. I cannot in all truth say sticking at 130 carbs has been really hard, we write down the carb numbers I have on a board in the kitchen so I know where I am upto each day, there are difficult craving moments but you HAVE to be strong, it gets easier. Getting back on the exercise horse has been great, I have so much more energy and aches and pains I had developed of late seemed to have gone away. Fingers crossed and good luck to everybody.

Hi Jon
My diet is very similar to HuskyDog. I reduced my HbA1c from 57 to 48 in 3 months, and lost 17 pounds Not so stunningly impressive but I was pleased. I have a lot of salads or home made soups at lunch, and have my eggs mainly at breakfast, but alternate with porridge and a little fruit. My carb intake is 75-90 gm per day. 4 days a week I'm in the pool doing Aquafit, and have lost inches and a clothes size.
