Hi,

I'm in my final year at university, which obviously is the most important one as my final grade is based on this year.

I feel like I can't concentrate when my blood sugar is too high (and of course too low). E.g. I get tired, thirsty, cold and just can't focus. I am worried I am the only one like this and wanted to ask if others are the same. I'm not really sure what to do about telling my tutors etc.

Can I ask if you relate and what you would do if you were me? thank you
Holly

I find the same.

Obviously if you haven't attended something like DAFNE then try and get your local team to send you on one (or use bertieonline). Continuous monitoring helps lots, so if you can, get something like that (Freestyle Libre is easiest to get from the NHS). I think most would agree that lowering carbohydrate helps a lot, so reducing the carbohydrates you eat may help (I think because it tends to flatten out the glucose level: you don't rise so fast after eating so it's easier to stay closer to level). (I still eat quite a bit, but I've found cutting down in my evening meal helps a lot.)
