First it was tendonitis, then it was Morton's neuroma causing the pain. Went to see a podiatrist today to see what they could do. Yes, I do have a Morton's neuroma but it's not causing my pain, as it isn't nerve pain I'm experiencing. He took down history of my pain then had a look at my feet. Turns out that capsulitis is the cause of my problems. Also known as pre-dislocation. So I now have a lovely splint to see if it will push my toe back in place. Plus excerises to do. And go back in 6 weeks to see if it's helped. Down side is doing the long walks that I enjoy doing isn't helping it. So been advised to look at other forms of excercise like cycling and swimming. :(

Bother.

Good that you have a diagnosis, but sorry that you will no longer be able to do your longer walks.
However swimming is an excellent form of exercise, taking in many muscle groups without any impact.

I hope that things settle

Sorry to hear this although I use an Exercise Bike, I do no enjoy it but do it because i fell it helps my knee.

Good job you went to the Podiatrist Stitch, hope it helps.

Oh Stitch poor you, you need some memory foam cushions on your feet these could help you walk on water too opening up a new exercise opportunity 🙂 x x

Feel better soon xox

Yes, hope you feel better soon x

Good that you have a diagnosis and a plan Stitch rather than it's 'just' diabetes. I hope the pain starts to improve. Those London bridges will be wondering where you've got to!

Stitch I’m so sorry to this. I hope it starts to improve soon xx

Sympathies! Not being able to do long walks is frustrating, I know.

Hope it all gets sorted before too long.

Sorry to hear about the long walks, but glad you seem to be getting the treatment you need. Hope it resolves soon.

Is it anything like the capsulitis in a frozen shoulder which can sort itself out? Or will you need injection or operation at some point?

Hope you can get back to enjoying long walks soon.

Hoping I won't need surgery, but it is an option. It's more known as hammer toe. I'm hoping the splint plus excerises will help bring my toe back down in place.

hope the splint does the trick 🙂

Yes hope the splint does its job. 🙂
My wife sees a podiatrist, has for a few years and she has found that whilst the podiatrists have all been good, it is hard to get some of the doctors in the surgery, to take them seriously, especially if their verdict disagrees with the doctors! It sometimes seems that a lot of medical advice is only based on opinion. 🙄

Ouch, poor you @Stitch147. 😱 I hope the non-surgical treatment works.🙂

Well, I had my follow up podiatry appointment today. The pain has significantly decreased since wearing the splint. So nothing done to it today. Next appointment now will be in the spring (about march time). But I have been told that if the pain comes back to give them a ring before then. Fingers crossed it continues and hopefully I can do my walks again in the future.
