Here is a little bit of inspiration for anyone struggling to loose weight.
1st February weighed in hospital 19st 6lb
Weighed myself today 13st 13 and a bit.
Lost this weight in eight and a half months, all it has taken is a bit of will power, cutting out a lot of carbs with a little treat now and then.
So if I can do it anyone can, so don't give up on yourself, eat less carbs and the weight will come off.

Well done. You’re hard work has paid off. Sounds like you need a new wardrobe of clothes now.

well done! Although some people I know struggle as they have underactive thyroids and really don't eat that much carbs xx

Yes very true, my wife has an underactive thyroid and she is almost eating the same as me, (apart from her sneaky bit of chocolate now and then that she dosent think I know about) however she has lost some weight.

my mum has lost weight but she has an underactive thyroid, does a lot of walking out and home from the golf club for her work at the weekend, walks a lot when she's volunteering 2 days a week, doesn't eat breakfast, has a roll for lunch, and barely any potatoes with tea etc but she struggles to lose it at a good rate, my grandad also has an underactive thyroid but doesn't really care and you may talk about your wife with a sneaky bit of chocolate but my grandad laughs at the fact he sits reading his book every night and devours a 100g bar every night which contains over 50g carbs! 😱 xx

My thyroid just topped working so I take Thyroxine (almost) every day and it seems to do the job well enough.
Years ago I read a poem - it ends do not go gentle into that good night, rage, rage against the dying of the light - and decided I would not rage - I would do what ever it took to put off the moment, not so much of death, that comes to everyone, but of incapacity.

Could you give an example of what you eat in any one day? I just can't get a handle on it.

Well done. Not sure anyone can do it though as many people just don't have the willpower. I lowered my carbs and lost weight although I should not have done and ended up underweight. I had no problem with it but many of my friends who are diabetic or close to it find it very difficult. Think it depends on the person, really.

Hi
I still eat carbs but just in moderation, don't really do anything special, I would normally have a slice of toast for breakfast at 6.30am, then about 10am one sandwich and a piece of fruit, then about 2pm another sandwich and another piece of fruit, tea time around 7.30pm could be anything from fish and veg to a chicken curry. might have a little snack of nuts or something similar, then I don't eat anything before bed time. will drink water and cups of tea during the day as well.
From what I used to eat I have cut my portions down massively.
Maybe I have just been lucky loosing weight as we are all different and what possibly works for one might not for others, but I have struggled with my weight most of my adult life, tried the odd diet but never had the will power to keep it going.
