Just picked up my double prescription for our “ Grand Tour”. I will be taking:
200 needles
900 Creon
180 Penicillin
112 Glucaphage ( SR metformin)
180 Fenofibrate
56 Bisoporol
56 Indapamide
6 Accu-Chek cassettes ( 50 tests each)
10 NovaRapid cartridges ( double what I will need)
10 Levemir Cartridges ( again double)
A spare pen
Accu-chek mobile meter
Old meter and strips
Spare batteries
And a partridge in a pear tree!
Not sure I’m going to have any space in the boot for clothes! :D

Wow that’s a lot of stuff but needs must and all that. Hope you have an absolutely brilliant time and look forward to hearing all about it. Take good care of yourselves x

Check with your airline - some will give an extra baggage allowance for medical needs. However, British Airways have now made this impossibly difficult and unreasonable to implement (e.g. they require all the meds to be in a single case - obviously you can't put the insulin in hold baggage - and I want to split my supplies over all my baggage in case a bag goes astray).

How long are you going for? Do you have your EHIC card and travel insurance docs somewhere safe? Do you have digital images on your important documents somewhere safe; whether online or hard copies, stored away from the originals?

When we were doing a lot of passagemaking, we became somewhat adept at disaster planning. If your boat goes down in 2000ft of water, there's no getting one's passport back! Similarly with thefts, whether of cars, burglaries or whatever.

Not trying to put a downer on things, but it's easier to think of now than when you realise you no longer have a passport, or whatever.

Airline have made preparations for the eggyg's meds and drafted in another craft to carry it all

Seriously mate, you both have a great time and stay safe.

We’re driving so won’t have that problem thank goodness. 🙂

As an ex travel agent, I have heard enough travel horror stories to put me off travelling ever again! But it hasn’t and has made me very OCD about it. I think, no I’m absolutely certain, that all is in place ( I hope!) thanks for the advice though. 🙂

I know I’m a rebel, but 200 needles would last me a year:D
You’re a top reb Mike. You must have skin like a rhinoceros! I use three needles a day. One for my three NovaRapid shots and I change my Levemir needles morning and night as I inject into my thighs and I’m a delicate flower and I bruise so easily there! So six weeks = 126 and the rest are spares just incase. I have OCD of being ultra organised! :D
