I've been told I have carpal tunnel syndrome (I'm type 1) and I'm due to have steroid injections in a couple of weeks. I'm hoping they'll relieve my symptoms but I'm a bit nervous... has anyone had this treatment before? What's it like and how did it effect glucose levels? Thanks!

Hi, At the same time when I was diagnosed as Type 2 I had bi-lateral Carpel Tunnel Syndrome. I had steroid injection in each wrist and was told it could effect my bg I had the injections which didn't hurt at all and the symptoms did go for a while. I was told this was only a temp measure. The carpelling returned and I had the release procedure in October. Again not painful. I can only speak as a type two, I didn't find it too much of a problem with my bgls. But was I delighted that the carpelling had gone. Good luck.

A couple of months ago I had a steroid injection for carpal tunnel I needed 20% extra insulin (Basal) during the day and 10% at night also needed to adjust carb ratio slightly. The higher insulin was needed for about 5 days. Oh and it has cured the problem and no it didn't hurt either. 🙂
