It was nice to cycle to Aldi last night at 9pm and it was still nice and warm,I bought Chia seeds,Linseeds,100% peanut butter,Mosen Roth chocolate(For emergencies)quarter pound burgers with west country cheddar and onions

I then cycled to Lidl this morning and bought 2 bags of oriental style seasonal vedgetables for stir fries,I enjoyed the ride and have found it easier to find things in the discount stores with them being smaller,I must say you certainly do notice the better prices

I've knocked the vegetable soup on the head and had spinach and scrambled eggs for lunch with some grated cheese in the scrambled eggs,I'm feeling a bit better about life today,I had a few issues troubling me at the same time along with diabetes, but I'm making the best of things today,I have to pop out and get my mmr and Pneumococcal vaccines this afternoon

Hi belugalad how are you getting on? I think we were diagnosed around the same time in May. Lunch sounded good I love spinach, I’m getting a bit fed up with salad but I’ve found some weight watchers wholemeal bread in Tesco’s this week and it’s only 9g of carbs per slice so think I may throw a sandwich or 2 in the mix from now on.

Hi yes not too bad thanks,my meals haven't been too varied to say the least,I was just keeping it easy for myself to start things off so I didn't have to think about too many food stuffs,I was explaining to my mum this evening that I don't eat bread now,I would so love a ham and tomato sandwich or an M&S Wensleydale cheese and carrot chutney sandwich,I will have bread again at some time I suppose,I do have some Burgun but have parked that in the freezer for the time being.
I treat myself sometimes to a Pataks curry jar which makes 2 meals when added to 2 big chicken breasts,I serve that with cauliflower rice(sainsburys frozen) and I have a good portion of broccoli on the plate the readings for that on my glucose meter were ok.
Do you have a meter?I haven't used mine often,I suppose I should do.

I do have a meter, I tend to test more at weekends or when I get home from work most readings seem ok between 4 and 6 with the odd high number after a treat (9.1 after a Chinese last weekend)

I find I’m ok with a little bit of rice but haven’t tried pasta yet I’ve made some very dodgy lasagnes with aubergine and courgette in the last couple of weeks so might have to try it with pasta but not use was much and see what happens

The chinese near me serves a huge chicken curry that's too big to have as 1 meal so I always had half the next day,I'm amazed that they are so generous with the amount of chicken in it,I will have to have one as a treat some day,at least your experimenting you might find that you emerge from this as a gourmet chef😉

It is fun trying lots of new stuff. I’m going to make home made kfc tonight, I’ll only use a few bread crumbs on my chicken and see what that does

I'm sure people have mentioned substitutes for bread crumbs,I believe some people use almond flour which having just looked on Tescos website is known as ground almonds, all of the supermarkets have it,sounds great anyway I think I might copy you this weekend🙂
Hey I've just seen one of your old posts concerning making cauliflower pizza you are doing well😎

I’m going to have to try it with ground almonds and see what it’s like. I bought a blood sugar diet book but lots of recipes are for fish but I’m not a big fish fan so I’m just trying things out to see what happens. My next blood test is at the end of August so hopefully there will be an improvement.

How are you feeling about it all? Generally I’m feeling much better by eating healthy and losing weight but I have anxiety so they plays on my mind lots. The diabetic specialist I saw yesterday said it’s normal for your sugar levels to play with your emotions

Hi I'm up and down, but had I put that down to a few other things in my life, but now that you say that maybe the changing sugar levels and diet have amplified my emotions, and I suppose the food that I was eating before diagnosis a lot of it was probabaly an emotional crutch and now that has gone I suppose that can make you feel a liittle low in itself.
One of my mums carers that has just left the house this evening has just said "You have lost a lot of weight"so I've just told her about having diabetes as she mentioned me looking thinner before, a few weeks ago and I thought I would tell her as she probably thinks I'm seriously ill with the sudden weight loss🙂,it was nice to be able to tell her it was weight loss from a change of diet and exercise.

Yes I know that feeling. I’ve had a couple of people mention my weight loss and it’s such a boost to carry on. I comfort ate lots but now I’m finding exercise it’s taking its place. I get up early at the weekends and go for a long walk before hubby and kids wake up and it really puts me in a better place mentally, at work I like to do 10,000 steps before lunch then I can ease off a little in the afternoon and do an exercise video before tea every night, as hard as it is it is all worth it

Your doing so well,it's nice to have a sense of pride isn't it,I have my 2 mile brisk walk in the morning while my mums still asleep,it helps me to clear my head,I must admit this morning I nearly turned back and went home after 200 yards as I wasn't feeling in the mood, but I forced myself.
