I have got a bag of frozen summer berries from Sainsburys, could anyone tell me what they feel would be a sensible amount of gramms of them to add to my breakfast Natural yoghurt?
I'm on a low carb diet, they are 5.6g per 100g,I'm new to this so sorry if it sounds like a daft question,I'm type 2 and will be starting metformin when I get it from the chemist today

Thats a low carb content, its up to you really, but I would go with 80g - 100g because this is about one of your five a day. If you are eating the berries with full fat greek yoghurt or cream this will slow down digestion and reduce any possible spike in BS.

Thanks @SkinnyLiz I will have 80g

I have about 50g of raspberries, but as SkinnyLiz says that is upto you and how much carb you want to eat at each meal. I go for 20g of carb at each meal, but some people will go higher and some aim for lower, it is personal preference because as reducing your bg levels, you still need to fill full up and not be hungry and it needs to be sustainable for you long term. My breakfast and lunch don't always make the 20g, that is the highest I like them to be, but I know sometimes my evening meal goes about 20g, but I try not to let that happen everyday.

It really is up to you hw much to go for, depending on the amount of carbs you are wanting.
I just take a handful out of the bag and leave them out the night before ready for the morning.
I weighed them ages ago and that was about 50g.
