After being diagnosed just over a month ago would just like to say a big thank you to everyone. I find the support and advice on here to be fantastic. I admit I’ve spent probably too much time reading all the posts but I have learnt such a lot.
I have made notes about what and what not to do and have kept a diary with all my blood sugar results, food eaten and my daily weight. This has really helped and motivated me. I have followed a no carb diet and have started walking each day before breakfast. In 6 weeks I have managed to loose 21 pounds and my blood pressure is now near normal. I use the mySugr app and according to that my predicted hba1c is now 47 - it was 63 at diagnosis. Not sure of how reliable the prediction is - my next hba1c will be at the blood clinic in July . But I’m feeling happy - still have a long way to go - now need to loose the equivalent weight of my 14 yr old! Also probably eating too many strawberries but I guess compared to bread, potatoes and pasta they are not a bad option . So if anyone is struggling believe me you can do this because honestly if I can anyone can!!

Good to hear that the forum has proved to be so helpful to you in making so much progress already.
It is great to have you on here to encourage and support others.
Well done.

That is great news. I was a little concerned when I read you were eating no carbohydrates, but as you later said you were eating strawberries, I guess you mean you are not eating any of the high starchy carbs. If you are feeling well, then whatever you are doing is definitely good for you. You may plateau at some time but please do not feel disheartened just keep going. Remember you're gaining better health all the time.

Great to hear 🙂 I'm sure all your efforts will be well-rewarded when your review comes around 🙂 Meanwhile, you have done great things for your health and clearly set on a better path than you were before your diagnosis 🙂 Well done! 🙂

Well done, sounds like great progress. Don’t worry if you have the odd blip though as we are all only mere mortals x

Fantastic result @Mgfg1rl a credit to the forum.🙂
