Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hey there, thought I should shout Hi! To everyone in here!

New to Forum, though not new to Type 2.

Before November '18, my diabetes was easily controlled by Sitagliptin until for some reason it stopped working and my HbA1c went crackers to 98.

Apparently sometimes Sitagliptin stops working in some people after awhile and noone knows why. Obviously I just had to be one of those people didn't I!!

At *ahem* my mid-thirties, I have an astounding list of illnesses, syndromes and diseases!! Until my HbA1c went wonky in November I didn't really pay much attention to my diabetes as I was fighting with everything else. Since I didn't have to finger prick test, it didn't really have much of an impact on my life. Now it's a different story.

I'm only testing once or twice a day, but my blood glucose (BG) seems to go really quite high sometimes! (I tested about an hour ago, two hours after food and a nap and it was 27.1). So, I feel like a newbie really.

Ive not been given any info from the GP's, though I have looked around the diabetes UK website etc.

Erm... I think that's a decent amount of waffle about myself??

Hi Kitt and welcome. Just replied to your post in the general message board. Looks like your diabetes should come up your priority list. My HBA1C did the same at the beginning of the year, went from OK to oh dear very quickly, but is now back to something like normal with a mixture of pills and food changes.

Hi @Docb, many thanks... I'll go and have a look now!!

Welcome @felixkitten, nice to ‘meet’ you. Assuming the change of meds will help, have you also considered reducing your carb intake? If you are not already doing this then it will make a difference to your blood glucose levels, I found keeping a food diary and tracking with my readings really helped me to see what foods worked best for me and what to tweak or avoid.
