Thank you, my son is coping better than myself lol.. anxiety levels are through the roof today as he’s off on a 5 day trip with the school to an activity adventure place, it’s only 1 hour from home and I have total trust in his teacher that he is with. I have started the hypo program, found it really helpful as I was able to download and print a hypo handbook that I was able to complete with all his meds and how to treat a hypo etc. I will also have a look at the above websites as I plan to have my boy live life to the full and to enable me to do that I will learn everything I need to.Welcome Karen.
There is a lot to learn in a very short time at diagnosis. How are you both doing?
Whatever questions you have just ask. No questions are considered silly on here.
We are just happy to help in any way that we can.
I have recently found a new site Digibete (just google it and it will come up) which provides some excellent support material for both you, your son and his school. It would be worth a look and draws on resources from Diabetes Uk as well as JDFR. There are videos from other children as well as specific support from parents.
Thank you we are coping and learning everyday. Although I wouldn’t wish this on anyone, it’s nice to know I’m not aloneHi Karen and welcome to the forum. 🙂 A big shock I imagine. How is you son and you and family getting on with it? Plenty of us on here have lived with T1 for decades and lived normal lives. It doesn't stop you doing or achieving anything.
