Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hello - I have just joined after having Type 2 Diabetes for several years.
I am trying very hard to lose weight and bring my blood sugar levels down and reduce taking tablets. I agree with a post I read on here that it is very much a ‘do it yourself ‘ process rather than just be prescribed yet another tablet!

Welcome Melly 🙂

Hi Melly, welcome to the forum.

Do you have a meter to test your BG with? Losing weight is an excellent start and will help no end with reducing your levels, as will cutting down on starchy carbs.

Do you have any questions we could help answer? Please let us know a bit more about yourself and we'll do our best :D

Hello

Welcome Melly. Reducing the carbs in your diet will result in weight loss, especially if you add some regular exercise. I’m not the kind of person to go to the gym so I borrow a neighbours dog and walk whenever I can, loads of add on benefits too, less stress, sleep better, generally feel happier 😉
