Still experimenting. I don't even know why...

Hi,
Well in the spirit of a great adventurer (or not as worthy) I am still messing about with mini Shreddies x 8. Absolutely no idea why, it is just interesting. Yesterday I tried them for breakfast and according to my food diary the BGL was 8.6 - not great but okish for the morning. Today I decided to do a similar test but at lunch. Now I will wait at least two hours and see what happens then. The thing is I don't really like Shreddies and until I was diagnosed T2 I didn't even touch the things...🙄😡🙂

Hi Sharon1 I eat Sainsbury's wholegrain mini wheat for breakfast 30g of them. I never used to eat them but they actually taste quite good and my blood sugar seems to like them too. Also try them with Alpro unsweetened almond milk taste much better than it sounds. It's a lot of trial and error and 4 months on I'm still trying to get my head round it all. Also 30g is a lot more than 8 shredded. Give them a try good luck.

Many thanks, I will give the Sainsbury ones a try. I use the Alpro milk, which I like. Do you weigh the 30 grams? I think when this all started I was rather over cautious... I am bolder now!

Yes I weigh 30g of cereal out sounds quite sad doesn't it. I also eat Sainsbury's own puffed wheat and 30g of them is a lot!
I know where your coming from I was frightened of eating all sorts of stuff...still am a bit if truth be told but it's getting slightly easier. Going abroad in a few days so that's another challenge.

Hi,
Am back now and can announce the BGL testing of the shreddies for lunch produced a 7.8, which I believe is OK. I don't find myself frightened of eating all sorts it's just that food was never such a big deal for me, so now I am super aware of it! Hope you enjoy your trip abroad.

Well done it's coming down and that's always good. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to my holiday and something different to eat....maybe.
