Hi every one I was on this forum about a month ago after being told I needed insulin I was very stressed and nervous and felt better after talking on this site. I had my first injection tonight and it wasn't as bad as I first though just glad the first one is out of the way now.

Onwards and upwards 🙂. The thought of injecting is much worse than the reality. Hope you find a good improvement on insulin

The first one is always the worst.

Well done on getting your first one out of the way, hope the insulin really helps with your blood sugar 🙂

Thanks everyone for the lovely comments
Well done Alison.
Let us know how you get on with this change.
I hope that it helps you to get your levels on track.

been shooting up since diagnosis in Feb, was unhappy @ first but soon found there is nothing to it & based on the results i am getting I now don't want to stop. Hope you have the same experience.

I made a big deal of it in my head at first too. Last night I was sat in a very fancy restaurant with a friend, she said do you need to go to the ladies to take you insulin. I had already taken it as I ordered. You will get to this point too, the pens make it so easy

Doing the jabs ok but an hour before doing them getting really nervous and worked up.

This will be day 4 and trying not to think about how long I will need them for, did any one else feel like this?
You will find that it becomes part of normal life, and stop thinking about it.
For your other injection of B12, have you tried a bit of ice over the site beforehand?
Some have said that that helps.
Or is it the delivery of the stuff that hurts. I found this with one of the insulins that’s I tried.
Is there an alternative mix with the B12 in it? I have no idea whether there is but you could ask your nurse?

Please don't do that! You never know how long it's going to be before that plate will be delivered to you - what if an order has just gone in for the table of 16 round the corner, ahead of your order?

It was a seriously upmarket restaurant where there are only about 3 tables to a waiter. I have never waited more than 10 minutes for my food, but I get what you mean if I had ordered risotto I would have waited!

Its like when you first start driving. Cooywobble thinking about going to the shop, fingers crossed the roundabout is empty, collywobbles when you get there and have to park, loving walking into the shop, collywobbles when you are at the checkout cos you have to reverse the car our of the parking bay. After a year and after an evening shift all you can think is "I don't remember that journey"!!!!!
