Diagnosed in Feb, Was 98, 11.1%, 15.1av. Had 3month test on the 8th May, forgot about it, rang for results and was told by nurse 6.7 mol something, 38 something, I was in a lay-by so not writing it down, Doc said normal results, gonna pick up results later this week.
What'd ya think? I know what I think, that I'd better study Diabetes more DOH.

If you know have an HbA1c was 38 then that is fantastic. You are now a member of the plastic diabetic club.:D

Could 6.7 be your HbA1c. Or is it 38. There are too scales for the HbA1c test. There are other tests too. It's best to know which test your talking about. The two scales, with one looking like a finger prick test really helps with the confusion.
A HbA1c of 6.5 converts to 48. 6.7 and 38 don't match.

Normal results would mean a reading of under 42 mmol… so the 38 must be your HbA1c results...well done very impressive...I look my test results up online...ask your surgery if they provide that service...I thought all practices were supposed to offer that now...perhaps they don't advertise it... you will have to ask them.

Yeah, traffic noise confused it. All I heard was mumble 6.7 mumble 38. She said notes said Doc said normal results. Best to pick them up 🙂

Ah - when my GP surgery does my HbA1c, they measure my actual BG at the same time - so maybe that's it? A1c 38, and spot check BG 6.7?

Well, picked up results. HbA1c 38 mmol/mol - normal
The 6.7 mmol was fasting Plasma Glucose level....damn....I ate before, didn't know you fasted for this test.
Serum lipids- Normal
Urea and electrolytes - Normal
Haven't seen The Sawbones yet but any advice would be good. Ta.

Think that was it. Shoulda fasted but no....I assumed it didn't matter with a HbA1c. Doh.

It doesn't matter with an HbA1c test Brando...I have never fasted for it...there's no requirement since the HbA1c is your average results for the previous three months...fasting would not have made one iota of difference...a spot check won't tell them much apart from what your BG was at that precise moment...you did well...firmly in non-diabetic range.

Definately the normal range, excellent 🙂

I don't know anything about these, nor have I fasted for any test for over 3 years. It isn't needed for the HbA1c.

I was incorrect in what I said - having collected my latest blood test request from my GP surgery today - it's an F BG specified on the form. They also want a lipids test which OK had they requested a FULL lipids test, should indeed be fasting. However since they can't actually do a fasting BG test once I get to wherever the vampire is - what the hell is the point in my not eating ? Ridiculous. But there you go!

Not for the HbA1c but on other results that they do at the time of draining you such as lipids, plasma glucose it said 'Fasting' levels.....no pigging out beforehand. :/
