Well I've been a bit quiet on all social media. My OH had an accident and is hospitalised with a broken back from which he should eventually make a fully recovery. It seems he slipped and fell headfirst into a river , I wasn't on the weekend break, so not sure exactly what happened. H e has a long road of recovery ahead of him.

Anyway man in next bed diabetic and hospital food is all carbs!! I do feel for any diabetic in hospital trying to manage their blood sugar on hospital food.

What a shock, wishing your OH a successful recovery.

I'm sorry to hear about your husband Grogg1.

That sounds awful. It must be a worry for both of you. I wish him a speedy recovery. Totally agree about the food for diabetics in hospital. Last time my husband was in the man with diabetes in the bed next to him was patiently explaining to the nurse that treacle tart and custard was not a good thing for him as it would raise his blood surgars. She responded by saying Have the jam rolly polly with custard instead! 🙂

Today's choice for evening meal was a sandwich, which was actually a bap, cheese and potato pie or BBQ chicken. Dessert was trifle or welsh cake!

Entirely true about hospital food round here too - TG type 1s can dose adjust!

Hope your husband recovers well, despite the food and lack of exercise not helping, Grogg.

Wishing all the best for your OH, @Grogg1. I am dreading the day I have to ever stay in hospital.😱

It’s the same here for hospital meals.

Sorry to hear about your husband @Grogg1 - hope he makes a speedy and complete recovery, and that you are OK in the meantime and have enough support around you.

Ouch! Hope your hubby has a good recovery, sounds like it’s going to be a long road for you both 😱. How sad that in the one place you would expect to feel safe and understood they clearly haven’t got a clue :(

Wishing your Better Half a speedy recovery.....

He's loving hospital food! He's decided he will eat every meal to try to stay fit for when they eventually let him up off his back. For at least 6 weeks he even has to eat while lying flat. He pops on prism glasses and is quite adept at cutting up his food and finding his mouth! He keeps joking he wants soup. I did offer to buy him another Tommy Tippee mug for soup (I bought him one for coffee).

If he thinks I'm making him fruit crumble everyday when he's home he's mistaken.
