Relationship to Diabetes
Hello i was on last week for the first time and was really thankful for the replies i had . I stated that i was conceded about how much my husband was drinking since he found out he was diabetic as we were told we wasn't sure if he was type 1but wasn't 100℅ sure we got told that docs thought he was type 1 but further tests have been done this week and they now think he is type 2 dispute the weight loss . I just wanted to say that from the recent results finding type 2 was the priority things have been a lot more positive mentally wise he has been more positive it sounds silly but knowing he has a chance of changing things in the future has made a major difference.xxx
Thanks adele

Thank you for the update @Adele martin really glad you are starting to get there now and have the correct diagnosis. Hopefully all positives from here and sounds like your husband is now on the right track. I’ve turned my BGL around in 3 weeks with help and support. So it’s very do able. Use the forum as much as you need there are lots of very knowledgeable people that can really help and point you in the right direction or just a shoulder to cry on. Best of luck for the future. Wayne🙂

Good to hear he is feeling more positive Adele...he can make a real difference to his condition once he can get himself into the right regime...now he finally has a diagnosis...you must be relieved he has that at last...now he can take the necessary steps towards good management...has he decided on any particular diet...is he able to exercise...both those will help an enormous amount with his diabetes control...good luck.

Pleased to hear he has a finally diagnosis and starting to feel more positive

Great to hear back from you Adele, and with positive news. This is a serious condition but we are lucky that with the right diet and exercise, it IS manageable.
Please ask if you have any questions.

So glad to hear things are more positive

Great to hear that things are improving for you and your husband Adele. It is so important to get the right diabetes so that your husband can have the right support to manage his BG levels. Hs he been given any medication or will he be testing his bg levels? Thanks very much for updating us 🙂

Great news Adele .... 🙂

Adele it can be a positive diagnosis...many of us here...myself included have since our own diagnosis taken better care of ourselves than we ever have...many of us have been diabetic or pre-diabetic for several years without knowing...it may seem difficult to believe this now try to see it as a positive step forward...with some changes T2 is perfectly manageable...it isn't easy...but once your husband gets himself into a routine it will become easier...good luck and I'd be interested to hear how he (and you) are doing.
