Hallo, just wondered, going to dentist tomorrow and having some work done on my railings, as I'm on Metformin and other stuff I've read you shouldn't take certain painkillers but cannot remember which ones.
I'll probably need some or I'll cry like a little baby. Any advice so I won't have to rip my mancard up? :(

You will be fine I hate needles in my mouth I shake with nerves but I don't mind them anywhere else I had all my teeth out last year all in one go loads of needles took me years of mithering dentist to do it was in agony for about a weeks now I love my false teeth I just had the normal injections so there's nothing worry about

It should list any drug interactions on the patient information leaflet in your Metformin. ( and if you've thrown it away with the packaging, they're usually easy to track down on line)

Your dentist should also know what he can administer as well (assuming you notify him you are on metformin), if not he needs to find out

Thanks people. Robin, keep all the paperwork on the drugs so will check them out. Wish me luck.....quiz....what film? "Is it safe?" That's what I imagine tomorrow's gonna be like. Yep, I'm a film nut 🙂

Hi. Hope al goes well. I was not long diagnosed, had started a low carb diet, and had to spend an hour in the dentists chair. Felt very strange on my way home, probably shouldn't have been driving, think it was probably due to my BG levels.

My previous one never asked about medications but the Hygenists did .
I think its necessary, maybe even obligatory, I'm not sure ~ for dentists to discuss with their patients their current meds so that their records can be updated ~ and also to double check that their medications are compatible with any treatment or anaesthesia that may have to be administered for dental treatment as there could be ~ I'm not saying there will be ~ an adverse reaction or side effect from the same. Better safe than sorry.

I have dentist Wednesday, mine give me a form to fill in every-time I go, attached is the previous one, and all I have to do is put on it if any medication or medical history has changed since my last visit.

My dentist always asks me if there has been any change in my medication. He got quite a shock when I went for my first appointment after diagnosis because I was on 11 different medications, plus two insulins! 😱 🙂 The effects of DKA, which wrecked my systems :( Now I just take candesarten for BP and one insulin 🙂

I'm in pain....but have pills to send me into orbit. Wasn't too bad but numbness is wearing off and I can feel the grinning imp of pain coming to the surface, lil *******.

Hope the pain soon wears off 🙂
Thanks, had pain when the numbness wore off last night, couple Parrots ate them all...woke up...no pain whatsoever, until I pricked my finger. Dentists Schmentists, why be scared? 🙂

The pain I hate from the dentist is the paying for it. Hope the pain does not come back, I go tomorrow for a check up, hoping that there is no work needed.
