Hallo, just wondering, how many carbs should I be eating at meals? Bear in mind, I need to PUT on some weight as I lost a bundle with the flu all January. I've ordered the Carbs and Cals book but thought I'd check out the learned Forum clans ideas, ta in advance.

How long is a piece of string? We are all different & tolerate carbs differently, so it really is an impossible question to answer. I have to stick below 20g carbs a meal to keep my BG within range. I find putting on weight very difficult since having Type 2, & I eat lots of butter, cheese & bacon.

Test and see !! I am an underweight type 2 and putting weight on is not easy for me to still keep the blood sugars under control .Avocados, full fat yoghurt ,double cream ,nuts ,lots of cheese, sausages (make sure these are low carb) ,all help and snacking seems to work too

Yeah, kinda difficult. My testing is between 5-8 at the moment, so more carbs would bump it up. Think I'll gobble that bacon, cheese, Avos etc and see.
Thanks.
