How often should we be having these tests through the surgery? I was diagnosed last September T2 and would really like to know if I’m doing ok!

Certainly after the first 6 months at a minimum. I have annnual Hba1c’s (some are more frequent) but it was 6 months after initial diagnosis. I’d contact them Flakie to ask.

It depends. It may start at 3 monthly (this is the minimum). For me it then went straight to 6 monthly & looks like it's yearly now. I'm 3 years in.

Thanks. I thought so. I will give it a week or two and contact my DN.

You are using a blood glucose meter daily though, aren't you?

I’m surprised there hasn’t been a quicker re-check however with a starting Hba1c of 73.

Chase it up Flakie.

When I was diagnosed I had mine every 3 months for the first year. I am now on every 6 months tests.

Yeah, give them a ring and chase it up. I'm on 3 monthly checks at the moment since diagnosis.
